Due to the massive flood damage at the UQ Tennis Centre, all of the UQ Tennis Club's Social Tennis programs, Tournament programs, Fixtures and Practice Sessions are currently suspended.
Most of the fences have been badly damaged, the courts are buried under deep mud and the Tennis Centre Pro Shop has been wrecked.
The courts are owned and operated by the University and the University is organising the cleaning and restoration of the courts.
Until the mud is removed, the level of damage to the court surfaces cannot be assessed.
Therefore, at this time, nobody has any idea how long the courts will be out of action.
A decision about Summer Fixtures will be made this Saturday (22 January).
