Fixtures
The new court lights have been installed. Once some teething problems have been sorted and a light audit completed, the courts will be opened for night bookings.
THIS MEANS THE SHORT SEASON OF TEAM FIXTURES SCHEDULED FOR FIRST SEMESTER 2025 (7 WEEKS) WILL BE GOING AHEAD. A FULL SEASON OF TEAM FIXTURES WILL BE RUN IN SECOND SEMESTER 2025 (11 WEEKS).
Fixtures are weekly team-based competitons.
To play Fixtures, players must have a Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile (CPP) linked to Universal Tennis Ratings (UTR), and a Tennis ID (11-digit number starting with '66').
To create a CPP and link it to Universal Tennis Ratings, or check if you already have a CPP & Tennis ID, go to https://www.tennis.com.au/competitiveplay/competitive-player-profile and click on 'Complete your Competitive Player Profile' at the bottom of the screen which will then give a number of options depending on whether a player already has a Tennis ID Account or Universal Tennis Account or neither or doesn't know.
For information about UTRs, go to https://www.tennis.com.au/competitiveplay/utr-rating.
In 2025, Team Fixtures will be run by the UQ Tennis Club on Monday and Tuesday nights. All competitions are any-gender.
Membership
In order to play Fixtures, you must become a member the UQ tennis Club. Membership of UQ Sport is no longer required for joining the UQ Tennis Club. The entry form also doubles as a Membership application form.
Although there is a printable entry form, ON-LINE ENTRY is preferred. Enter on-line here.
Applicants who are under 17 years of age must also lodge the special Junior Membership Declaration which must be signed by a parent or guardian. The junior declaration can be downloaded here.
How to join
Enter on-line here or download and fill in the Membership and Fixtures Application (see side bar). ON-LINE ENTRY NOT YET AVAILABLE.
Please note that the fees for each fixture are for the entire season, not per week, and do vary between the different options. Entries must be lodged by the closing date as there is usually a very tight timeline for us to organise times and make the draw before the season starts.
If you have not played for the UQ Tennis Club before you will have to come to a grading session (see below). This ensures that teams are made up with players of same standard and makes play more enjoyable for all. If you feel you have improved after some time, you can always come to another grading. We also keep statistics on how you perform during the season and use this to update your grading.
Please fill out the form as completely as possible. A working e-mail address really helps as we send out 'e-updates' during the season to remind you of events. Mobile phone and work phone numbers help your team captain organise the team each week.
