UQ Tennis Flood Update

Sadly, the UQ Tennis Centre has been severely impacted by the flooding over the past few days.

As a result, all UQ Tennis Club programs and activities are now cancelled until the Tennis Centre can re-open. This includes Grading, Fixtures, Social Tennis, Practice, Tournaments and the Welcome Party & Program Trials (scheduled for Friday night, 4 March).

The time-frame for resuming activities is unknown at this stage. Current indications are that the flooding could continue for some days. The state of the courts cannot be assessed until the flood waters recede. Following assessment, the courts will need to be washed and decontaminated and there is a possibility that the courts may need to be resurfaced.

The clubhouse is currently out of action (no power) and the club's storeroom has been flooded.

The UQ Tennis Club will provide an update once any definite information becomes available.  At this stage, it is not known if it will be weeks or months before Tennis can resume.

Please do not inundate the Club with enquiries that simply cannot be answered at this stage. Please follow the Club's Facebook page to receive updates as they come to hand and emails will follow when time permits.
