Some UQ Fixtures Teams Now playing at UQ

There are now 8 courts operational at the UQ Tennis Centre - 2 synthetic grass courts that have been resurfaced, 3 hardcourts that have been resurfaced and 3 hardcourts that have been temporarily patched.

This means that some UQ Fixture teams can be relocated to the UQ Tennis Centre.

As of the week beginning 9 May, the following UQ teams will have Home Courts at UQ:

  • UQTC Monday Night Fixtures  -  all UQ teams
  • BNTA Tuesday Night Fixtures  -  all UQ teams
  • BNTA Wednesday Evening Pairs Fixtures  -  UQ teams currently based at Griffith University
  • BNTA Wednesday Night Threes Fixtures  -  UQ teams currently based at the Geebung Tennis Centre
  • UQTC Thursday Night Fixtures  -  all UQ teams

The other UQ teams based at Tennyson (BNTA Monday Mixed), BBC (BNTA Wednesday Pairs) and Griffith & Terrace (BNTA Wednesday Threes) will continue to have their Home matches at those courts.

Work is continuing on the 5 cushioned hardcourts (Courts A-E) but it is unlikely that these courts will be finished before the end of May.

Once these 5 courts are repaired there will be enough courts operational to bring some more teams back to UQ and to resume the Social Tennis programs.
