43 players took part in the Super Spring Series Men’s Singles & Ladies’ Singles Tournament which was played last Saturday night (24 October).

As an innovative change, a pre-tournament exercise session was introduced to get everybody warmed up (called squeegeeing).  Despite the ill-timed downpour at 7 p.m., which caused a slightly delayed start, it turned out to be lovely night for Tennis.

The event winners were Krystyna Anderson (Open Ladies), Gary Jones (Open Men), Naomi Westaway (A Grade Ladies), Kevin Henriksen (A Grade Men), Jessica Rowley (B Grade Ladies), Scott Rolph (B Grade Men) and Eliza Kruger (C Grade Ladies).  Because of the large number of entries in the B Grade Men’s Singles (17), there was also a runners-up prize in this event which went to Sherwin Francis.

This was another participation-style tournament .  Round-Robin formats were used to ensure everybody got lots of Tennis.  The prizes included Body Shop products, wine, chocolates, a movie pass and a Club T-Shirt for the gals and wine, chocolates, a movie pass, Wilson Tennis balls and a Club T-Shirt for the guys.

This was the second tournament in the Super Spring Night Tournament Series.  The third and final tournament in the Spring Series will be a Men’s Doubles & Ladies’ Doubles Tournament on Saturday night, 14 November.  Entries for the Doubles Tournament close on 12 November.
