Get Your Racquet On - Open Court Sessions

Do you know any lapsed or occasional Tennis players who might want a fun way back into some regular Tennis?

Tennis Australia has launched a new program aimed at bringing these people back to Tennis, the Open Court Sessions, with a national TV advertising campaign running during the Summer of Tennis.

The Open Court Sessions provide an opportunity for people of all skill levels to play some fun Tennis-based games (using mini-courts, mini-racquets and soft balls) and make new friends in a social environment with music, eats & drinks.  All racquets and balls provided.  Come alone or with a group but everybody must pre-register.

As well as providing an entry point for people to get back into Tennis, the Open Court Sessions at the UQ Tennis Club are a stepping stone into the Club’s non-competitive Tennis programs.

The Club’s Open Court Sessions will run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Sunday from 2 February to 22 March and will cost $18 per session.

After 60 minutes of on-court activities, players will retire to the clubhouse to socialise over some free drinks & eats (e.g. sausage sizzle or pizza).  N.B. Alcoholic drinks will be on sale at The Smash Bar.

As well as all the fun & games, Open Court Session participants at the UQ Tennis Club will receive a free come ‘n’ try pass for the Club’s Social Tennis or Tennis Practice programs, depending on their skill level.

Tennis Australia’s research shows there are around 5 million lapsed Tennis players in Australia, so you must know a few.  Tell them about the Open Court Sessions or come and have a game yourself for something a bit different.
