Awesome Ladies' Tennis Programs

What an unforgettable day on Saturday, 25 January, with the UQ Tennis Club’s Ladies’ Tennis Welcome Party.

Over 50 amazing women turned up for an afternoon & evening filled with fun, friendship and plenty of Tennis. From doubles matches to engaging drills, the courts were buzzing with energy and smiles all around.

The excitement didn’t stop there.  Everyone stayed back for a pizza dinner that set the perfect tone for a cozy night watching the Australian Open Ladies’ Singles Final. And what a Final it was, with lots of cheers and laughter, as Madison Keys defeated World No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka, 6-3 2-6 7-5.   

This was a celebration of women in Tennis. With lots of fabulous prizes up for grabs, there were plenty of happy winners.

A huge thanks to Gabby for organizing and running the Ladies’ Welcome Party.  Thanks to Alex, Grace, Peter & William for their help on the day.

The Ladies’ Welcome Party was followed by the February session of Match & Mix Ladies’ Social Tennis on Sunday morning, 2 February.

Around 50 players enjoyed a morning of Social Tennis followed by refreshments on the clubhouse verandah.

The next session of Ladies’ Social Tennis will be held on Sunday morning, 2 March. 

The UQ Tennis Club’s Ladies’ Tennis promotions are funded by a Queensland Government Active Women & Girls Program Grant.

This grant has been a true game-changer, allowing the Club to create events that support women’s growth as players and foster a vibrant, supportive community.  Hopefully, the Club can build on the momentum created with these events and get more women involved with all the Club’s competitive and non-competitive Tennis programs.
