Australian Open Trivia Quiz

Players attending the Thursday Night and Sunday Afternoon Social Tennis programs at the UQ Tennis Club are eligible to enter the Club's "Australian Open Trivia Quiz".

This is a chance for Social players to show their Tennis knowledge and win some great prizes.

The Trivia Quiz questions are:

Question 1:  Name the Queensland player who won the 1960, 1962 & 1969 Australian Open Singles Championships?

Question 2:  Name the last Australian player to win an Australian Open Singles Championships?

Question 3:  Name the Queensland players who won the 1969 Australian Open Men's Doubles Championship?

Entries close at 5 p.m. on Sunday, 2 February, with the draw to be conducted at 5:30 p.m. on 2 February during Social Tennis.

The questions relate to tournaments prior to the 2014 Championships and exclude junior events. 

Entries  must be lodged in person at Social Tennis using the official entry form but players can lodge an entry every time they attend Social Tennis.

The Trivia Quiz prizes are:

First Prize  -  Autographed copy of "Rod Laver: A Memoir"; Australian Open gym towel; Wilson backpack, tennis balls & overgrips; Social Tennis free pass; and Cadbury Favourites chocolates

Second Prize  -  Wilson tennis balls & overgrips; Social Tennis free pass; and Cadbury Milk Tray chocolates

UPDATE (2 February):

The winners of the Trivia Quiz were Peter Walsh (First Prize) and Robert Raven (Second Prize).

The answers to the questions were:

Question 1  -  Rod Laver

Question 2  -  Chris O'Neil won the Women's Singles in 1978

Question 3  -  Roy Emerson & Rod Laver
