2023 Ekka Singles Challenge Tournament

NOTE: ENTRIES HAVE CLOSED. Entries have been closed early because entry numbers have reached the maximum number that can be accommodated in a one-morning tournament.

The 2023 Ekka Singles Challenge Tournament is a daytime tournament that will be played on the Brisbane Exhibition Holiday (Wednesday, 16 August) from 9 a.m. to approx. 1 p.m.

Note:  If play on 16 August is prevented or interrupted because of the weather, the tournament will be played or continued on the following Sunday morning, 20 August.  Entrants should ensure they are available for both mornings if necessary.

This tournament is designed for players of all standards although it will be played as a single draw.  Even though all players (male & female) will go into a single draw, because of the continuous feed-in format which will be used, they will drop into consolation rounds whenever they lose and will keep playing.  This means there will be some mis-matches in the early rounds but players will progress through the draws to meet players of their own standard and will get lots of matches.

As everybody goes into a single draw, players do not need to know their player rating or Fixtures grade to enter this tournament.

Entrants must be Club Members but non-members will be given free Restricted Membership so they can enter.  Entry fees for Restricted Members are higher than for Ordinary, Associate & Junior Members.

Entries close on Sunday, 13 August.  ENTRIES HAVE BEEN CLOSED EARLY.

N.B. Entries were closed early last year as entries had reached the numbers that could be accommodated in single-morning tournament.

Entry forms can be collected from under the clubhouse or downloaded as a PDF file here

Entries can also be lodged on-line via the Tennis Australia Tournaments Website here
