2017 First Semester Tennis Fixtures
The best option for people wanting to play regular competitive Tennis is to sign on for Fixtures (graded weekly teams competition).
In First Semester, the UQ Tennis Club will be running three internal Fixtures (all matches at UQ) and entering teams in two Brisbane Night Tennis Association (BNTA) Fixtures (matches at UQ and elsewhere in Brisbane). Check the 2017 Membership & 2017(1) Fixtures application form for competition details (dates, formats & fees).
The competitions are:
UQTC Monday Night (7 p.m. 9 p.m.) - starts 20 March (finishes 5 June)
UQTC Tuesday Night (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.) - starts 21 March (finishes 6 June)
BNTA Wednesday Evening (6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) - starts 22 March (finishes 7 June)
BNTA Wednesday Night (7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) - starts 22 March (finishes 12 July)
UQTC Thursday Night (8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) - starts 16 March (finishes 1 June)
Season Fixture Fees (covers all court hire, balls & registration costs for season):
UQTC Monday Night - $65
UQTC Tuesday Night - $70
BNTA Wednesday Evening - $75
BNTA Wednesday Night - $115
UQTC Thursday Night - $80
To play Fixtures for UQ, players must join the UQ Tennis Club:
Full Year Membership (to 31 December 2017) - $75
Half Year Membership (to 30 June) - $55
All new Fixture members must attend a Grading Session. There is no registration for grading. Just turn up at and check in upstairs in the Clubhouse.
Grading Session times are:
Sunday, 26 February from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (all Fixtures)
Monday. 27 February from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (all Fixtures)
Wednesday, 1 March from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (all Fixtures)
Sunday, 5 March from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (Fixtures closing 8 March only)
Monday, 6 March from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Fixtures closing 8 March only)
Wednesday, 8 March from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Fixtures closing 8 March only)
Fixtures entries close on:
1 March - UQTC Thursday Night Pairs
8 March - UQTC Monday Night Pairs, UQTC Tuesday Night Pairs, BNTA Wednesday Evening Pairs & BNTA Wednesday Night Threes
N.B. Entry deadline extended to Friday, 10 March.
Entries for 2017(1) Season Fixtures have now closed. Do not lodge an application for Fixtures now unless you have contacted the Club and been told that a late application for a particular competition can be accommodated (i.e. there are some suitable teams under-strength).
