2011 University Open Championships

Although it was in doubt for some time, because of the lack of courts and sponsors, the 2011 University Open Tennis Championships will be going ahead thanks to some last minute sponsorships from Tynan Mackenzie and Sports Technology International.

The tournament will be played over three weekends (9-10, 16-17 & 23-24 July).

Because not all courts at the UQ Tennis Centre will be repaired by July, some matches may have to be played at other venues.

The University Open provides a great opportunity for players of all levels to have a game.

With 44 events on offer, there is an event suitable for every player – good, bad, young or old.

The Grade events are aimed at the average Fixture player and use Round-Robin formats to ensure all entrants get plenty of Tennis. The R/R Grade events are pre-scheduled so that players will know their first-round playing times when they enter.

The Open and 18/U events will be played on 16-17 & 23-24 July. Where entries in the Open and 18/U Singles exceed 32 players, a Qualifying will be conducted on 10 & 16 July.

Entries close on Saturday, 25 June.
