BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS WHO HAVE PULLED OUT WITH THE WASHOUT ON 14 AUGUST, ON-LINE ENTRIES...

2011 Season 1 fixtures entries due

Entries for the 2011(1) Season of Fixtures are now closing.

The Club will be running three Internal (UQTC) competitions and will be entering teams in four Brisbane Night Tennis Association (BNTA) competitions.

Entries close on:

2 March  -  BNTA Monday Night Mixed, BNTA Wednesday Night Threes & UQTC Thursday Night Pairs

8 March  -  UQTC Monday Night Pairs, BNTA Tuesday Night Autumn & BNTA Wednesday Evening Pairs

18 March  -  UQTC Wednesday Lunch-time Pairs (new competition)

Obviously, most teams will be based off-campus initially and some competitions may have to be reduced in size.  Therefore, it is very important that applicants fill in the entry form completely, showing their other preferences if they can’t be placed in their first choice competition.

The Club has sourced enough courts to accommodate everybody.  Likely venues are:

BNTA Monday  -  Griffith & QTC

UQTC Monday  -  QTC & UQ

BNTA Tuesday  -  QTC, Griffith & UQ

BNTA Wednesday Evening  -  BBC, Griffith & UQ

BNTA Wednesday Night  -  Griffith, Geebung, Gregory Terrace & UQ

UQTC Wednesday Lunch-time  -  UQ

UQTC Thursday  -  QTC & UQ

It may be necessary to change the format for the UQTC Thursday Night Fixtures to that used for the UQTC Monday Night Fixtures.  That is, a match would consist of three sets (2 singles & 1 doubles) with each player getting 1 singles set & 1 doubles set using two time-slots for the matches (7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.).  This change would halve the number of courts needed.

Players can lodge applications by post, fax, e-mail or, when the Club Office is open, hand-delivery.  The Club Office will be open as often as possible over the next week but, obviously, entries can no longer be lodged at the Tennis Centre Pro-Shop when the Club Office is closed.  At the Office, payment may be made by cash, cheque, money order, credit card or debit card.  Fees with postal entries can be paid by cheque, money order or credit card payment authority.  Fees with fax or e-mail entries can be paid by credit card payment authority.  To make payments by Internet banking directly into the Club's account, contact the Club (admin@uqtc.org.au) for account details.
