Vale Peter Bilton

Sad news last week with the passing of Peter Bilton (28 May 1962 – 19 February 2025).

Peter was a member of the UQ Tennis Club for 9 years (2004 to 2012), before moving to the Sunshine Coast. Peter played Team Fixtures in the Club’s Pennant grade teams and was a member of the Club’s Management Committee.

Peter was a part of the Tennis Seniors Queensland & Tennis Seniors Australia family along with the Sunshine Coast Tennis fraternity for many years. Peter played in the Australian team in the 2018, 2020, 2022 World’s Masters Teams Event and received an award for Tennis Seniors Queensland Most Outstanding 35+ Senior in 2017.

Perter was in the Intensive Care Unit at the PA Hospital awaiting an urgent liver transplant when his condition worsened.  He was a much loved and respected member of the Tennis community and will be missed.
