Lighting Update

Finally, there is a little bit of good news about the court lights.

The new LED lights have been installed on Courts 17-20 and these courts opened for night play in late May. 

The funding to replace all the lights on the other 17 courts has finally been approved.  Unfortunately, the timeline for the installation of the new lights is not known.

The project to install the new lights on Courts 17-20 was approved with funding in early April 2023 but it took over 12 months for the project to be completed.

At the moment, 10 courts are open for night play but three of these courts have deteriorating lights.

As long as no more courts are closed for night play, the Club can continue to run Wednesday Night Tennis Practice and some night tournaments with restricted entry numbers.  However, this is not enough courts to run Team Fixtures, Singles Fixtures or Thursday Night Social Tennis.
